Chris Clemens
Deep Time Pearl
Once I dreamed I was a pearl
deep beneath the blue
ejected from my shelly bed
tangled up, askew
a little push, a tiny shove
forever missing oyster’s love
I try to wake, but can’t - you see
pearl time moves quite differently
a hundred years or more might pass
and a pearl would never know
